In a suburban Chicago high school, Robert Rickman lived and breathed broadcasting — he ate, slept, and dreamed radio.
Little Ricky (as the ladies called him) spent nearly as much time at the school’s campus station, WRHS, as he did in the classroom.

After graduation, Robert attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, one of the nation’s top schools for radio and television.
There, he could often be found behind a microphone or in front of a camera at student-run stations WIDB and WSIU Radio and TV.
His journey into professional broadcasting began shortly after, at WRAJ Radio in Anna, Illinois.
Over the next several decades, Robert built an impressive career in radio and television across Illinois, Iowa, California, and Tennessee.
Among his many accomplishments were serving as news director and evening anchor at two television stations in California.
Then one day, as Robert looked in the mirror and noticed a few gray hairs staring back, he smiled and thought—

That moment inspired him to return to his college town of Carbondale, Illinois, where he launched a Boomer-oriented variety show called “OK Boomer” on radio stations in Carbondale and Nashville, TN.
Four years later, Robert moved OK Boomer to Chattanooga and turned it into a video podcast, dedicated to bringing Boomers and other generations together so they can agree on...ANYTHING!
